Technical Advisory & Training Mission to South Africa

Support to UN-SPIDER Mission adressing national and provincial Disaster Management Centers in South Africa.

The Sentinels-4-African-DRR action is accompanying UN-SPIDER to a technical advisory and training mission to South Africa. As part of this mission, a three-day training workshop will be conducted. Staff of the Center for Remote Sensing of Land Surfaces (ZFL), as sub-contractor in the action, will provide presentations, demonstrations and practical trainings on Copernicus, the Emergency Management Service and especially the Global Flood Awareness System (GloFAS) and the Global Drought Observatory (GDO). The target audience are members of the National Disaster Management Center (NDMC), the South African Space Agency (SANSA), as well as technical staff from the different provincial disaster management centers of South Africa.
