First version of the snow load information system for the pilot region Bavaria

The first phase of development for Bavaria has resulted in a test version of the snow load information system, which provides interactive maps illustrating snow load data at DWD stations. The snow load data is derived from DWD snow depth measurements and snow densities estimated by the Delta Snow model (see here).

Future iterations will improve spatial resolution and use the C3S SNOWLOAD app to contextualize snow load data within climatological information.
