FPCUP in Brittany
The Regional Copernicus approach aimed at leading to a better uptake of Copernicus images, Copernicus products and added-value services by end users, mainly from public authorities at regional and sub-regional level, by involving them more in the design of new Copernicus based products/applications/services, and by working with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The regional Copernicus applications provided to local and regional authorities (LRAs) offers users a free, online, simple and unique access point to a broad panel of Copernicus/EO data (https://copernicus-regional.irispace.fr). It is based on an open source client, mviewer, already used by many regional stakeholders and promoted by GéoBretagne
A tool box provides tutorials dedicated to geomatic users, allowing them to display Copernicus/EO product in their usual Geographic Information System (GIS) software (eg : QGIS) (https://cms.geobretagne.fr/teledetection)
Copernicus/EO products are described by metadata in French in the regional Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) catalog, and compliant with INSPIRE Directive (https://geobretagne.fr/geonetwork/srv/fre/catalog.search#/search?any=copernicus)
The main achievements are:
- 17 Copernicus/EO free products representing 80 geographic layers available in the Regional Copernicus application and the GéoBretagne catalog, found with one click
- 3 Copernicus/EO commercial products available for 2 years in the application and the catalog
- 2 acculturation webinars (20 and 12 attendees)
- 2 working groups on forest and coastal applications (16 attendees and 6 partners involved from LRAs and SMEs)
